Securing the Shoulder Servo

Overview

In this section, you will be using a plate to secure the newly added shoulder servo. This will prevent any unwanted motion and help with wire management to your ESP32.

Parts and Hardware

  • PN8 – Right servo (shoulder) clamp plate
  • Clear Spacer
  • Turret Assembly
  • One M3x12 screw
  • One Nyloc nut

Securing the Shoulder Servo to The Turret

Follow the steps below to route your servo wires and secure the servo to the turret:

  1. Thread the servo wires through the rectangular hole on PN8 and the dogbone.
  2. Slide tab 4 on PN8 into slot 4 on the turret at an angle. Make sure not to crimp any wires or use too much force. The plate should be snug but can crack if too much force is applied.
  3. Insert an M3x12 screw at joint H10 on PN8 and through joint 10 on PN3 of your turret.
  4. Slide your spacer between PN8 and PN3 to make sure you don’t overtighten.
  5. Tighten the nyloc nut making sure not to overtighten or break the plates.
