🏁 Obstacle Course Race

This is a fun activity to do as a class! To set up races with the Robot Cars, follow these steps:

  1. Block off space on the floor for the arena. Set up the course with checkpoints, which can be made from cones, tape, or any other objects.
  2. Get a few completed cars connected to their respective computers by navigating to the unique IP addresses on each laptop.
  3. Have students bring those laptops and respective cars to the race area.
  4. Place the cars at a starting line and tell students to wait for your signal.
  5. Select student drivers and have the audience root for any team of their choice! Make sure all of the students are ready to watch the race. Switch off drivers after every race.
  6. If you don’t know which car is which, have one student drive forward slightly to determine whose is whose.
  7. Count down and race! Walk around the track to ensure cars are not being used as bumper cars. Don’t let kids get into a car fighting match because it could lead to car damage.
